Guidelines For Submitting a Manuscript:
Show What You Know® Publishing publishes quality educational materials, primarily standards-based, state test preparation materials. We sell our publications to educators and parents through bookstores, teacher supply stores, catalog, website, other online retailers and through our in-house distribution warehouse.
If you are not sure whether Show What You Know® Publishing is the right publisher for you, peruse our website to see if your work fits with the materials we have published.
What to Submit
Your submission should include:
- A cover letter containing a brief, 1-2 paragraph description of the books you have written
- Your resume or vita
- A detailed outline of the entire book (Be as specific as possible)
- At least two completed chapters of your book
- A proposal that addresses the following:
- What is the purpose of your book?
- Who is your intended audience? How large is this market?
- What will the reader get from your book?
- Do books similar to the one you have written exist in the market? If so, why is your book superior? How is your book similar/different? Why would someone buy your book rather than one from a competitor?
- Is your manuscript complete? If not, why is it not complete and when do you anticipate it will be finished?
- How long is your book?
- Does your book include artwork of any kind? Will you supply this material?
Reviewing Your Proposal
Once we receive your submission, it will be reviewed by an editor who is familiar with your topic. The editor will determine whether your book is in line with the materials produced by Show What You Know® Publishing. Depending on our workload, this process may take several weeks. If your submission appears to fit our publishing plans, we will contact you regarding the future of your book.
